Description
A fantastic evergreen ground cover plant, Vinca major produces trailing stems clothed in glossy green leaves. From mid-spring through to autumn, pretty star-shaped, blue-lilac flowers decorate the plant on upright stems. Tolerating even heavy shade, Greater Periwinkle is a fantastic ground cover plant beneath trees and shrubs or on steep banks, where it's vigorous growth will suppress weeds. Periwinkles can even be grown in hanging baskets or patio containers for trailing displays year after year. Height: 45cm (18") Spread: 75cm (30").

How to Grow
Grow Vinca plants in borders outdoors in any moist, well drained soil. Periwinkle is a particularly tough plant, and will thrive in any garden position, provided that the soil isn’t dry.
More Info
Feed and water Vinca plants regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established Vinca plants require only occasional attention. Pruning Periwinkle is best undertaken in spring when they can be cut back hard to restrict their growth. Caution: harmful if eaten.
