Description
If you are looking for a shrub that has year round interest and is easy to care for, Pyracantha 'Soleil d'Or' is a superb choice. It is a dense, prickly shrub that is perfect for security hedging, making it much tougher for burglars to gain access to the garden. This Firethorn has masses of small white flowers in summer that are followed by a profusion of bright yellow berries. These look great if planted alongside Pyracantha 'Saphyr Rouge', which has red berries. The berries are excellent for attracting garden birds in the winter months when food is scarce. As well as planted in lines to create a hedge up to 3 metres in height, it can be planted as a wall shrub or as a single specimen in a shrub border. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 2.4m (8').

2 x 7.5 litre potted pyracantha plants (TKA0796)
2 x 2 litre potted pyracantha plants (T58008P)
1 x 7.5 litre potted pyracantha plant (KA0795)
1 x 2 litre potted pyracantha plant (58007)

How to Grow
Grow Pyracantha plants as free-standing shrubs train as a hedge, or grow against a wall or fence. Plant Firethorn into any well drained, reliably moist soil in sun or semi shade. Choose a position with shelter from cold, drying winds.
More Info
Feed and water Pyracantha plants regularly until full established. Prune free-standing shrubs in early spring, removing damaged and poorly positioned shoots. For wall trained shrubs, tie in main shoots to form part of the permanent framework, and cut back unwanted shoots to the main stem. After flowering in summer, shorten the remaining stems to 3 leaves from the base, in order to expose the developing berries, and maximise the display. Remove any old fruit trusses in spring to make room for new growth. Caution: harmful if eaten.
