Description
Primrose 'Husky Mixed' produces a vibrant rainbow of flowers to brighten the gloomiest of winter days, even in cold, wet weather and snow! Its delicately fragranced blooms burst open in a frenzy of colour that lasts through until late spring. Primrose 'Husky Mixed' is an easy to grow perennial, requiring virtually no maintenance once established in beds, borders and containers. Height and spread: 20cm (8"). Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible, and you can use the sweet tasting petals to top salads and pancakes, or crystallise them for cake decorations. How to Grow
Pot up plug plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When they are well grown, acclimatise primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
More Info
During the winter, avoid over-watering container grown plants as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide over-crowded clumps of primroses from late autumn to early spring.
