Description
Pretty, pure white flowers with dark burgundy centres make a truly stunning sight when sown in drifts through a sunny border or in a traditional cottage garden planting scheme. These lovely linum will also attract bees and other beneficial pollinating insects to your garden.

1 packet (300 seeds) (KA9979)

Sowing

Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 20-25C (70-75F). Sowing Depth: Surface sow using peat/sand mix seed compost. Sowing Time: February-July. Germination usually takes 14-30 days.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out 30cm (12") apart in full sun. Prefers a well drained soil.

Can be sown directly outdoors where they are to flower once the soil has warmed. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sprinkle the seed thinly over the surface then rake lightly to ensure seed is covered. Alternatively, sow 1.5mm (1/16") deep in drills, 30cm (12") apart. Germination takes 14-21 days.

More Info
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Annual Linum thrive in a sunny position with free draining soil.
