Description
Bergenia cordifolia bears beautiful bell shaped flowers from early spring in colours that range from soft pink to dark rose. The sizeable leaves are glossy and feature wavy edges, commonly with a purple tinge during winter. Often known as Elephant Ears, this robust evergreen perennial is a traditional garden favourite, thanks to its pretty flowers and neat clusters of foliage. Ideal for beginners, Bergenia thrives in the majority of garden conditions with almost no maintenance. This hardy perennial looks outstanding planted in large front of border clumps and is perfect for creating dense ground cover. Height: 25cm (10"). Spread: 30cm (12").

After flowering, remove the faded flowerheads of Bergenia. Cut off any damaged foliage as it occurs too, to keep plants tidy. Lift and divide clumps in spring.
